9 February 2010 Job Title: System Analyst/GIS Supervisor Division: Geographic Information Systems Job Summary: Technical support of GIS technologies, including participation in user requirements definition, high quality map production, system design and application development, user interface development, application integration, GIS data development and conversion, relational database design and implementation, training and documentation. Respond as main point of contact for end user support of GIS applications. Responsible for all aspects of GIS division including marketing and development of new work, expansion of client base, enhancement of skills and expertise and participation in GIS related conferences. Represent the company in a professional manner. Qualifications: Masters' Degree in Geography, GeoSciences, or Environmental Sciences or related field and five years of experience utilizing geographic information systems, remote sensing and visualization applications, including a thorough understanding of GIS and cartographic principles, working knowledge of ESRI based software including ArcINFO, ArcGIS 9.x and extensions, ArcPad and ArcTools, ERDAS Imagine Professional 9.x, Virtual GIS, Autosync, general database operations, and familiarity with ArcIMS and ArcSDE. Must be familiar with MS Office Suite including Word, Access and Excel and have strong organizational and management skills. Data transfer involving AutoCADD a plus. A northshore company is currently searching for a full time GIS person with a range of GIS skills including some GIS programming, but above all it needs to be someone who can work independently and with initiative. Duties change as the project moves forward so flexibility in their expectations of job assignments is needed, too.
