A baccalaureate degree with 12 semester hours in any combination of GIS or GIS-related courses such as remote sensing, cartography, spatial analysis, mapping science, civil surveying, photogrammetry, CADD (computer aided drafting and design) mapping, aerial photo interpretation, physical geography, geologic mapping, or computer science courses in relational database design, programming, or software system development plus one year of professional level experience in GIS (geographic information systems).

Salary:  $16.45 - $32.74 hourly/$2,851.00 - $5,675.00 monthly

Job Title:  System Analyst/GIS Supervisor

Division: Geographic Information Systems

Job Summary: Technical support of GIS technologies, including participation in user requirements

definition, high quality map production, system design and application development, user interface

development, application integration, GIS data development and conversion, relational database

design and implementation, training and documentation. Respond as main point of contact for end

user support of GIS applications. Responsible for all aspects of GIS division including marketing and

development of new work, expansion of client base, enhancement of skills and expertise and

participation in GIS related conferences. Represent the company in a professional manner.

Qualifications: Masters' Degree in Geography, GeoSciences, or Environmental Sciences or related

field and five years of experience utilizing geographic information systems, remote sensing and

visualization applications, including a thorough understanding of GIS and cartographic principles,

working knowledge of ESRI based software including ArcINFO, ArcGIS 9.x and extensions, ArcPad

and ArcTools, ERDAS Imagine Professional 9.x, Virtual GIS, Autosync, general database operations,

and familiarity with ArcIMS and ArcSDE. Must be familiar with MS Office Suite including Word, Access

and Excel and have strong organizational and management skills. Data transfer involving AutoCADD

a plus.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

· Supervisor of GIS division

· Interact with and support staff scientists

· Assist in developing, monitoring, and managing project deliverables, budget and schedules

· Support network infrastructure

· Design and implement latest network technologies

· Develop computer programs and custom applications

· Provide in-house and client support for computer hardware and software applications

· Preparation of maps and GIS derived graphics

· Image processing

Essential Functions:

· Requires extensive computer knowledge, including advanced knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS

suite of GIS applications.

· Provides services to staff using GIS and GPS data collection using ESRI ArcPad, mapping

and related activities
